FAQ
1. How long does the bellycasting take? To cast your belly in person will take about an hour, accounting for setup, casting, and cleanup. Turns out that most mommas after giving birth don't think much about where their bellycasting is, but I usually tell mommas it'll take a few months to return the finished piece.
2. How much does a custom-made bellycasting cost? The starting price is $388, and goes up if you etiher want particular customization, or live outside of Nevada County or the Bay Area. The costs accounts for labor, travel time, and materials. Cost does not include shipping.
3. Can't I just make a bellycasting myself? I see videos of it all the time! Sure you can! Anyone can easily make their own bellycastings. However, my bellycastings are for those who seek to support an artist to make your bellycasting in a piece of unique artwork.
4. What does custom-made actually mean? Will you paint whatever I want? I approach painting bellycastings the same way I approach my paintings—intuitively. While we can discuss your preferences if you have any, I generally only ask about the color palette, patterns, and any specific imagery you'd like. This way, I can create a personalized piece for you in my unique style, unless we agree otherwise.
5. When should I get a bellycasting? The best time to get your belly casted is soon before you give birth! Around 35 weeks will produce the best result, but as with all pregnancies, everyone is different, so your belly may be ready sooner.
